This policy explains how Decorate with Katie collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit the website, book a service, sign in, join a meeting, or use your private workspace.
Information we collect
We collect contact and account information, booking details, payment status, room photos, measurements, Pinterest and product links, notes, decisions, messages, service records, support requests, and technical information such as device type, IP address, browser, and security logs. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
How information is collected
Information comes directly from you, from Google when you choose Google sign-in, from Stripe when you pay, from meeting technology when you join a session, and automatically through essential security and performance technology.
How we use information
We use information to provide design services, manage appointments, process payment, operate client and studio workspaces, maintain records, respond to requests, prevent fraud and automated signups, secure the platform, comply with law, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information or use client room materials for public marketing without separate permission.
Service providers
We share only what is reasonably necessary with providers that support hosting, cloud storage, authentication, payment processing, video meetings, email, analytics, error monitoring, and professional operations. Google and Stripe process information under their own policies. Providers are required to handle information for authorized purposes.
Cookies and session storage
Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect account access, preserve booking state, and prevent abuse. Optional analytics or marketing cookies will not be used unless disclosed through an appropriate consent mechanism where required.
Room photos and sensitive details
Room materials may incidentally reveal personal possessions, family details, or location clues. Please avoid uploading people, mail, security systems, access codes, financial documents, or anything not needed for design advice. Uploaded files are private to the account and authorized studio users.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and project information while your account is active and as reasonably needed for service records, tax, dispute, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. You may request account or upload deletion. Some records may remain in restricted backups or where law requires retention.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections, limited administrative access, signed sessions, managed payment processing, and monitoring intended to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
California privacy rights
California residents may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information and may ask about categories collected, sources, uses, and disclosures. We will verify requests and will not discriminate for exercising applicable rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by California law.
Children and international use
The service is not directed to children under 13. Services are offered in the United States and information is processed there. Do not use the platform if that processing is unlawful in your location.
